The service from the blond older lady who I imagine to be some sort of bar manager was absolutely ignorant and hostile. Except with the male species of course. I have been coming to the Rupert for years and have really missed this experience for the last 6 months due to other commitments. I thought it unusual when I arrived on Sunday gone and the pub was almost empty. The menu still included pigs in blankets from Christmas and the cauliflower cheese was watery and really disappointing compared to how it used to be. I think the chef must have been replaced but I have to say, the food was still exceptional. I missed the whitebait from the starter menu and the sharing boards but overall, the food was really good. The older blong lady really needs to take a rain check though. She puts me off going back to a place where I spent most Sundays.......
Great food with a large menu. Great choice of real ales. Friendly staff. Several rooms with different types of seating. Loved it!
Superb listed building off Newark market place. Exquisite dining experience. Long wait and expensive but worth it!
Really nice place. Excellent ales lots of cosy rooms. Nice staff. Food served but not tried.
This wonderful old pub has excellent service, beer and food. The Pizzas are especially good (the best in town). I would recommend a Ham and Artichoke pizza with a pint of Reverend James... delicious!
