Very nice, clean looking Pub. Carvery is great and tasty. Generous portions of meat and fresh vegetables. Staff is polite, however coffee is rubbish. Does not taste like coffee that way 4/5 stars.
Recommended for good food and especially the carvery. A great selection on vegetables and the other menu is good too. Lots of choices to accommodate most appetites, although not much choice for those requiring gluten free! (More a matter of knowing what not to go for!)Friendly and hard working staff, always a nice atmosphere.
It is obviously a popular place as it was extremely busy today at lunch time. Could barely find a place to stand up let alone sit down. We called in without booking in advance, so you wait to be seated at the door. Cant fault my carvery, especially the mash, Brussels, carrots, parsnips and cauli cheese. Beef looked rare so I had turkey and that was great. Gammon was also on offer. Reasonable price at 7.95. Pub interior is dated and dark, might benefit from being lighter and brighter. Outdoor seating available too.
Went for a Sunday carvery (available every day) and was not let down. The meat was well cooked and the selection of veg was very good. Three portion sizes so suits everyone. Nice building and plenty of room to sit outside too. A little noisy when busy but not problematically so.Would thoroughly recommend for a decent reasonably priced hearty meal. Wait staff very polite.Decent outside play area for children if needed.
