Rubbish hire place. Do not trust them. Con men
I always use Newark self hire. They are always very professional and helpful. The service is second to none and by far the best in Newark. I have also used Falcon and enterprise but would definitely not recommend falcon but would use enterprise if Newark self drive did not have a suitable vehicle
Nice vans... easy to deal with
Very poor attitude and customer service right from the initial phone call. Went to pick the van up for a house move but couldn't take the van because despite having driving licence, debit cards and 2 utility bills as proof of address, one of the bills was in fact not a bill but a letter from British Gas, still with my name and address but advising of a price rise and that isn't acceptable as a form of ID - it has to be an actual bill.. The fat guy in the dingy portacabin that serves as his office did not want to find any kind of compromise or solution to this, even though my partner said she could get the necessary bills in her name and address and indeed told me I had to have 2 utility bills even to be an added driver and was a mug for not following his instructions over the phone to the letter. After coming very close to punching the guys lights out! I phoned Enterprise hire who did an address check over the phone so we didn't need utility bills and within 20 mins had hired us a brand new van for less than the 10 year old banger we had so much trouble trying to rent from this shower. After reading some of the reviews on here it looks like I dodged a bullet for sure...
You absolutely must take photos of every panel before you lease it. They're meticilous looking for scratches on their work vans (...?!) when you return it. Then they'll be rubbing their fingers asking for cash for the repair job that you know they will never do.A cheap hire but for good reason, I won't be using them again. I advise you avoid them and stick to the big companies who aren't out to make a quick buck out of you like this two bit company is.
